The process of screenprinting suits my personality because it allows me to layer multiple modes of expression. Honest art for me seems to involve both the expansively expressive and messy, as well as the reductionist and obsessively clean. These opposite poles can be brought together in printmaking.
The composition of Violent Society was a satisfying blend of planning and allowing things to happen and just letting my feelings out. It was titled after a song by the punk band, CODE 4-15.Listen to their Violent Society.
